Millennia World School Junior high Students went on a Field Trip to Star World, this field trip was the part of AstroCamp.  The students had the opportunity to view the outer space using the spherical projector in the planetarium, it really felt like we were actually teleporting from planet to planet, furthermore the information about planets was mesmerising.  Upon our return from the planetarium the students set up the tents they were going to sleep in around the school grounds and started preparing other tasks for the camp.The camp started with team building games like ball in basket, Treasure hunt using QR codes. Even though both the games were tough both the  teams collaborated and achieved their objective. The competition between the teams was pretty close, it was amazing to see how the students worked together with each other and solved the clues “Thumbs Up to both Teams!”. Camping is not fun unless there is cooking, the students prepared their own dinner and I must say, they did it well.  The most anticipated activity of the night “Star Gazing” was held with the help of a team Astronomers from a nearby university, our students learnt in depth and also had the opportunity to view the stars and moon with their telescopes. The skies were clear and it was an amazing experience not only for the students but for the teachers as well.

There was a fierce competition in the general knowledge game using KAHOOT, the students enjoyed it a lot.  As the night progressed, we sat around the bonfire and roasted marshmallows, had smores and hot chocolate and shared stories. The last activity of the night was movie watching and by the time the movie ended, all the students were sleepy and we called it a night.

The next day, the students and teachers cooked  breakfast together. After breakfast, we had prize giving ceremony. Overall,  we had a wonderful learning experience and we all are looking forward to the next camp.
